🌺Indra Kasih Tisnodjo comes from Indonesia, she is 78 years old, till now she has fought against breast cancer for 7 years. In April 2017, she went back to St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou for follow-up visit. Test results showed that all of her indicators were normal and her condition returned to normal. After 7 years follow-up, doctors announced that she would not need anticancer medicine any more. Nowadays, she is in good spirit and her head is clear. It is hard to believe that she is a 78 years old cancer patient who has been fighting against cancer for seven years.
2010 is the saddest year for Indra Kasih Tisnodjo. Her younger sister left her forever because of colorectal cancer, while after one month a bump was detected in her right breast. A sense of foreboding enveloped her, she was extremely skeptical that she had breast cancer. Because the family genetic history, cancer has taken away the life of her father and younger sister, and her younger brother also had tongue cancer. After she heard of her brother, who has been fighting tongue cancer for 5 years, would go to St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou for return visit, she made up her mind to go to China in August, together with her husband and her brother, to have physical examination there.
After arrived at St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou, Indra Kasih Tisnodjo had her checkup, and it turned out to be infiltrating ductal carcinoma in her right breast. Although she has been prepared for this result, this bad news still hit her hard. Immediately, she registered the admission procedure. At night, lying on the bed, Indra Kasih Tisnodjo felt very sad since she has spent almost all her life in fighting diseases. Besides breast cancer, she also had heart disease, gallstone and thyromegaly. Thyromegaly troubled her a lot, because it made her neck thicker and her eyes protruding, she could not wear her glasses normally. She has been treating her thyromegaly for over 30 years in Indonesia, she visited many hospitals and accepted surgical operation, but it didn’t work well. She couldn’t stop thinking about it and stayed up so late.
💥Since she was diagnosed with breast cancer, her sleep and appetite lost rapidly. She lost 5-6kg in her weight thus she looked pale and weak. Based on her condition, doctors in St. Stamford MCHG timely conducted psychological therapy for her and promptly made an individualized treatment plan for her.
For early stage of breast cancer, surgical operation is the best method. But since Indra Kasih Tisnodjo was old and suffered from too many types of diseases, it was risky to conduct operation for her. Therefore, Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) in MCHG made a comprehensive treatment of particle implantation combined with biological immunotherapyfor her.
🔥On September 8th, 2010, Indra Kasih Tisnodjo underwent the first particle implantation therapy. Later, doctors detected her tumor in order to make sure the effect of particle implantation. The testing results were amazing and unbelievable, which surprised the doctors a lot. With once particle implantation, her tumor already shrank. To enhance the treatment effect, then doctors in MCHG carried out biological immunotherapy and interventional therapy for her. The latter helped her overcome the thyromegaly problem which bothered her for over 30 years. Gradually, her eyes returned to normal, no longer bulging. Her tumor disappeared and never returned.

I’m TJIOE A TJOEAK, from Jakarta, Indonesia. Sometime in September, 2015, while I was taking a bath, I detected a painless lump on my left breast, measuring about 2 cm. At first, I didn’t pay much attention to it and didn’t tell my family so as not to cause them to worry.

However, I felt the lump grew bigger. After 2 weeks, I went to take an ultrasound at a local hospital and results revealed of breast cancer. Treatment regimens such as chemotherapy and radiation therapy were proposed which I refused neither surgery. With my family’s support, we seek for alternative cancer treatments and hopped from one hospital to another— Hospital of Sun Yat-Sen University and Fuda Cancer Hospital among others until my husband knew about Jakarta office of St. Stamford MCHG through the magazine.

In the office, I have known several patients who have more serious condition than I am, but have gained good treatment effect. Some of them has lived for more than 10 years and now are still in very good condition. In St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou, it has 18 advanced minimally invasive treatments which are for more advantageous because it does not entail trauma and produce side effects like what I have learned with the conventional therapies. This offered me a wise and convenient option. Then my journey with St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou has begun.

It was in October 31, 2015 when I first stepped in the hospital. I was then anxious that I can’t sleep well and my feet and neck were in pain. When I learned that it is an international JCI cancer hospital and garnered outstanding award for medical services and doctors and nurses rendered professionally, that helped reduced all my discomforts.

Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) tailored a plan, left breast excision plus interventional therapy. I was in so much nervous as the procedure started. Eventually, the treatment process went fine and helped me calm down. I feel getting better every day after treatment. For the third session of interventional therapy, my discomforts and symptoms were almost gone and I feel in good state. Now, I am on my fourth session of interventional therapy, tumor has been shrunk gradually and well controlled.

🔥During this treatment, I have gone around Canton Tower, Tianhe Garden, Beijing Road and places by myself which I had never been when I first arrived here. Those who have known me can say it is like I have never been through this kind of ordeal in my life because of what they can see now in me. I am a fighter, I fought back breast cancer and so I encourage every patient too to fight bravely!

CHERYL DIANE CARL: There is no reason to give up, there’s plenty of things that can do to help you. Sometimes you get disappointed, but you got to handle disappointments and move on to the next, and it will work. I think it’s unfortunate today that a lot of people still have a big fear of cancer, it is a problem and challenge, but it is not the end of the world.

CHERYL DIANE CARL is a 69-year-old American woman with stage IV breast cancer. The tumor was about 5*6cm when she was first admitted to our hospital in January 2016 along with metastasis to the lungs, liver and right side axillary lymph nodes. After taking interventional therapy, cryotherapy, biological immunotherapy and mastectomy in St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou, she is in a very good condition with no living cancer cells inside her body. She had great improvement and had been sustaining medications to defend her against the recurrence.

CHERYL now lives in Indonesia and is working as a teacher in an International School. A small lump was found on her right breast by mammogram last August, but CHERYL did not at first pay so much attention to it because she was assured that there was nothing to be alarmed of. In October, the lump grew as doubled though without any pain and discomforts. With the support of her husband, CHERYL went to a Singaporean hospital for further examination. This time, she was told to have stage II breast Cancer.

At 69 and knowing the severe toxic side effects like weakness, vomiting, pain, etc., CHERYL refused Singaporean doctors’ advice of chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery and decided to look for a kind of better breast cancertreatment with lesser side effects. Fortunately, while in a doctor’s waiting room, she met an Indonesian female liver cancer patient whose tumor greatly shrank after taking minimally invasive therapy in St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou. This is the first time that CHERYL has heard about St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou, but the lady’s successful treatment experience greatly gave CHERYL the hope. CHERYL and her husband then search on the internet to get more information about St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou and went to our branch office in Jakarta for free consultation. CHERYL and her husband decided to take cancer treatment in China after being told that we can help her. She told us that it is fate that brought her here, “I would never have known St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou and took treatment here if I had not met that lady, so I am lucky.”

CHERYL came to St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou for treatment on January 2016. She first took a series of examinations which show that her tumor was enlarged to twice as big as before and worsened to stage IV, with metastasis to both lungs, liver right armpit lymph nodes. A treatment plan composed of interventional therapy, microwave ablation, cryotherapy, biological immunotherapy and surgery was quickly made by the Multidisciplinary Team(MDT) due to the high malignancy. “There is one doctor that assigned to you, but there is also a team of doctors, they would talk to each other and compared, trying to decide the best plan. Every time I finished one session of treatment, they discussed and adjusted the treatment plan based on my real condition. That’s very good.” CHERYL commented.

CHERYL was first given interventional therapy to control and destroy the metastatic cancer cells, Cryotherapy and microwave ablation to treat the primary tumor. To her surprise, the metastatic cancer cells were gone after interventional therapy. Since the primary breast tumor was big and buried to her breast, anticancer drugs could not reach to the whole tumor though they had worked the best. On June 2016, the MDT suggested CHERYL to take mastectomy to get the best treatment effect, but CHERYL did not take the advice until August. What she did not expect is that mastectomy did not bring her bad effect on her but greatly improved her condition, “Probably this is the best thing ever because after the surgery, I couldn’t believe the difference. My immune system was so busy trying to do something with the cancer, but when they removed the cancer in my breast, my body was completely different. It was healing and I felt fine. I asked the doctor, should I have the surgery in Jan., he said he wouldn’t recommend that because they wanted to shrink the tumors in both lungs and liver, the treatment they gave me got rid of that. The primary tumor was the biggest problem, that’s why the surgery had taken place. It’s really help and amazing, and it’s really thorough!”

After several sessions of comprehensive minimally invasive treatment, there is none living cancer cells inside her body. CHERYL is really satisfied with the treatment effect, she also shared that one of her sister is working in an American clinic, doctors in America keep following her condition and told her that it’s a great improvement after reading her latest medical reports.

At the end of the interview, CHERYL made some comments on our service, “When you are in a surgery room, during the procedure, there is a translator who constantly asking, ‘Do you have any discomforts?’ As long as you have discomfort, they correct it. You know, it is a challenge for some who doesn’t speak Chinese to come to a Chinese hospital, but the translators have been very good here, even in the surgery. It’s amazing to me how easy it has been.” Besides, CHERYL also shared her battle experience to other cancer patients, “There is no reason to give up, there’s plenty of things that can do to help you. Sometimes you get disappointed, but you got to handle disappointments and move on to the next, and it will work. I think it’s unfortunate today that a lot of people still have a big fear of cancer, it is a problem and challenge, but it is not the end of the world.

VENNY NYOTOWIJOYO: Interventional Therapy Keeps Me Happy

“We need to be patient and optimistic. Don’t give up and don’t forget to pray. We make effort and God will help us.”—- VENNY NYOTOWIJOYO

God Gave Me a Test

Before 54 years old, VENNY NYOTOWIJOYO had lived a peaceful and happy life. In her best years, a man fell in love with her in the first sight. Three years later, they got married. They had a cozy and sweet life and her husband had never forgotten her birthday. They had two children, a boy and a girl, and her children were obedient. When her children grew up, her children got further education at abroad. She was satisfied with life.

However, there was a turning point in May 2011. VENNY NYOTOWIJOYO found out there were 2.5cm lumps on both sides of breast. After inspections, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She was very worried about breast cancer, which she thought was lethal, and her mother died for breast cancer. Her husband consoled her that God gave them a test. VENNY NYOTOWIJOYO was extremely afraid of taking surgery because her mother died for metastasis of cancer cells after surgery so she chose conservative treatment. She also received another cancer treatment, too.

Breast cancer did not break up her happy life. While she took cancer treatment, she dressed up to participate in her son’s wedding party……

Rainbow Came after a Storm

In May 2013, VENNY NYOTOWIJOYO’s breast turned to another condition: the lump on her right side of breast was gone but the other on the left side enlarged to 10x10cm which looked like a dark purple hemisphere. There was also an enlarged lymph node (2x3cm) on her left axillary. In order to alleviate the pain, she brought more than ten leeches to draw the blood of tumor. Though it was disgusting, she felt relaxed after doing this.

Finally, she decided to take surgery. Due to safety problem, she chose to take cancer therapy at abroad. At this time, her best friend were about to take return check in Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou so her friend invited her to go there. VENNY NYOTOWIJOYO believed that it was God that guided her to Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou. On May 6th 2015, she took a check about CEA which was 1129.14ng/ml and CA153 was 53.1U/ml. Doctor advised her to undergo surgery and after surgery, she needed to take interventional therapy to kill cancer cells thoroughly.

A few days later, surgical expert underwent an excision of left breast cancer. After surgery, doctor diagnosed her with left breast infiltrating ductal caner Ⅲ B period which meant she was in middle stage. She asked doctor whether she can regain health. Doctor told her that that was a lot of hope for that.

In the surgery, the cancer and invaded tissue were cleaned. Then she began to receive interventional therapy. In order to combine slight intravenous chemotherapy, she began to lose her hair and at last she lost all her hair. Her husband understood that his wife loved beauty so he brought five wigs. These five wigs had companied her for almost half year. Until December 2013, cancer treatment was completed and she already grew dense hair and did not need wig any more.

Now, four year passed and VENNY NYOTOWIJOYO grew beautiful hair. At the end of May 2015, she took a return check with her husband. The result showed that the condition was good and there was no sign of recurrence. She moved on from breast cancer and had a new life. Two grandsons were born and she became grandmother. VENNY NYOTOWIJOYO cherished her life and she kept eating blank and healthy diet and kept running. Every Saturday, she will have dinner, enjoy chatting or see a movie with her friends.

VENNY NYOTOWIJOYO believed that God protected her and helped her defeat cancer so she hoped to share her anticancer experience and build up other patients’ confidence to fight against cancer. She always participated in many symposiums of cancer and bravely showed her incomplete breast and scar. She also humorously told people how to put the sponge into the underwear so that it looked real. In April 2015, VENNY NYOTOWIJOYO was awarded as “Anticancer Star” in ASEAN Academic Committee of Minimally Invasive Therapy because she kept an optimistic attitude towards fighting against cancer and positively helped others.
