Personal Information

🌺My name is Benny, I’m 72 years old, come from Jakarta, Indonesia. In December 2010, I was diagnosed with poorly differentiated non-small cell right lung cancer stage IIB. In March 2017, I came to St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou for my 19th regular return visit. I have survived lung cancer for 7 years since the first time I came here in 2011. Every six months I would return to visit and my condition was well under control without recurrence in the past 7 years.
🔥An unexpected faint, I was diagnosed with lung cancer stage IIB
Before December 2010, I had never imagined that I would get lung cancer since I didn’t feel any symptoms. I passed out at my house, started to bleed and vomit. My daughter insisted to visit a doctor. In Singapore, through biopsy and CTscan; it found out that I was diagnosed with poorly differentiated non-small cell right lung cancer stage IIB. There was a mass about 3.6cm in my right lung. Besides, I already had type 2 diabetes, stage 2 high blood pressures, type B virus hepatitis and fat liver at that time, In addition, I was old and weak, therefore, oncologists in Jakarta couldn’t make a treatment plan for my lung cancer.
🔥I chose to treat lung cancer overseas over surgery and radiotherapy as well as chemotherapy
After the diagnosis of my lung cancer, I have received numerous information about cancer treatments, mostly are disappointing. Several of them died from radiotherapy and chemotherapy due to the side effects. So I refused to do any treatment in Indonesia and Singapore since I knew there were none left for me. Occasionally, I learned about St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou from my neighbor. I went to the Jakarta Office and I got to know minimally invasive therapy that can help in my case, so my family decided to go to the hospital for my treatment.
🔥Minimally invasive therapy made 4.3 cm tumor in lung disappear
Early in 2011, I arrived at MCHG together with my family. Compared with oncology hospitals in Indonesia and Singapore, thorough tests and examinations are performed in MCHG . I was saddened that my tumor progressed from 3.6 cm to 4.3 cm. With my complicated chronic diseases, I lost my weight from 89kg down to 79kg. The Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) in MCHG immediately formulated an individualized minimally invasive treatment plan for me.
Considering my age and condition, MDT first arranged biological immunotherapy and minimally invasive targeted therapy and combination of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) & western medicine to enhance my immunity to sustain me for the subsequent treatments.
By interventional therapy, cryotherapy and particle implantation, I didn’t feel any side effects at all like those caused by radiotherapy and chemotherapy, instead, I was getting better each day. When I came to hospital for my 4th return visit in April 2011, CT showed that the 4.3 cm tumor in my lung had already disappeared. My weight also gradually returned back to normal. Apparently, my hair grew back and everything seemed fine as I was able to do some more activities.
I find medical services here are great, it is comfortable and heartwarming. Sometimes you don’t even need to press the call ring and the nurses are there to help you. I remember, I once wrote down a note for doctors saying “Thank you for your patience, love and care. You are the light that shines in the world’s darkness.”
I can feel that every doctor here is a light; they shine in the dark world of cancer patients. I hope other cancer patients can be as lucky as me to meet your light that finds out the right treatments and conquer cancers.

Personal Information

I am How Peng Kooi, come from Malaysia, I was diagnosed with advanced nasopharyngeal cancer with metastasis to bilateral cervical lymph nodes. Primary nasopharynx tumor was about 6*4cm; the left cervical tumor was 7*8cm and the right was 13*9cm. In Oct. 2016, I was admitted to St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou and took 5 sessions of interventional therapy. Now, with remarkable therapeutic effects, my nasopharynx tumor has shrunk by 60% and both cervical tumors have been disappeared completely.
💥It all started with a small amount of blood streak in saliva in May, 2014. I went to a local hospital and doctor told me that I was ok since it was just a slight injury in my throat. It never came crossed my mind that it might be cancer. However, this symptom wasn’t relieved but aggravated. My wife had a gut feeling that something was wrong and advised me to see ENT (ear, nose, and throat department) doctor. Through CT scan and biopsy, it turned out to be a malignant tumor in my nasopharynx. As an optimistic person, I didn’t fear the diagnosis. When I know it was nasopharyngeal cancer, I wasn’t afraid. For me, cancer is not a serious disease, because everyone has cancer cells in body. Attitude is the key to face with cancer, so I accepted it positively.
💥Malaysian doctor advised me to take traditional chemotherapy, but I refused. In Malaysia, the hospital only has ordinary chemotherapy which can kill normal cells and bring a lot of side effects. Subsequently, recommended by my friend, I heard of a medicine that could boost immunity to kill cancer without any side effects. All of my families strongly opposed me to take that medicine since it was not backed up by any scientific evidence and was not tested. They persuaded me to take western medicine instead. However, I persisted on my own view, so my families had no other way to change my mind but to obey my choice.
💥I kept taking the medicine for a year which brought me undesirable effects, It deteriorated my condition more that I became thinner each day and got 2 bumps in both side of my neck, growing gradually and with discharging pus and had experiences of difficulty in speaking and eating.
🌺It was so much suffering for me and my families as the condition worsened until a new hope came abruptly. In Oct. 2016, my sister-in-law searched out the Facebook of St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital where it showed several cancer patients’ cases and minimally invasive treatment effect. At that time, the hospital held anticancer symposium in Malaysia, so she registered and attended. After it, she strongly recommended me to have a try on minimally invasive treatment. As stubborn as before, it wasn’t so convincing to me and finally through my sister in law’s strong persuasion and for my love for my wife that I began to change my view. I was determined to take treatment in China and took it as a travel with my beloved.
🌺In Oct. 13, 2016, I arrived at St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou in my wheelchairs with my wife. At that time, I was in advanced stage and only weighted 39kg. With nearly 1.7 meters tall, I was skinny and fragile. My nasopharynx tumor had grown to 6*4cm; the left cervical tumor was 7*8cm and the right was 13*9cm. I couldn’t walk, speak clearly and eat normally.
🌺Dr. Liang Feilv and Dr. Hu Xiliu assessed me who has severe malnutrition, which is also called cachexia state. It is a sign that advanced cancer patient become extremely emaciated and wore away gradually. Emaciation is one of the remarkable features among cancer patients. According to statistics, about half of cancer patients are afflicted by cachexia, and the 10% to 25% died of it. There are 2 reasons that cause cachexia. On the one side, tumor becomes over-grown and metastasizes to other parts of organs, which will consume a lot of nutrition. On the other side, in advanced stage, some of cancer patients will lose appetite or be unable to eat, making them deficient in nutrition. In addition, cachexia reduces muscles and their activity, meanwhile destroy patient’s immune system, so cancer cells are so easy to spread and proliferate. Under this situation, if I was given anticancer therapy, my body would not go through.
Professional multidisciplinary team (MDT) customized a reasonable therapy programme and arranged treatments for me in right time. Instead of performing anticancer therapy for me, MDT gave me natural therapies to strengthen my body resistance in the first month of treatment, including traditional Chinese medicine, nutritional therapy, etc. After that, I got improvement with better appetite and sleep, increase of protein and immunity to prepare me for the procedures. Minimally invasive therapy has advantages of few side effects, small wound, no-surgery, quick recovery, to name a few.
🌺2-3 days after the first session of interventional therapy, I found out my cervical tumors shrunk obviously without any side effects. After the second session of interventional therapy, tumors on both sides of neck have disappeared completely. So far, I have visited MCHG for 4 times and took 5 sessions of interventional therapy in 10 weeks. With remarkable effect, I have increased weight from 39kg to 55kg and I am able to walk normally without wheelchairs and has good mental state, good appetite and sleep every day. My nasopharyngeal tumor has shrunk by 60%.
🌺I was so satisfied with treatments and medical service in MCHG. I feel like at home here. The doctors and nurses are so professional and considerate. The hospital environment is cozy. I really recommend interventional therapy which directly injects anticancer drugs into cancer area to kill cancer cells accurately and effectively without any side effects for me. Besides, I also find that many patients were in bad condition in their first time of hospitalization here, but after once or twice treatment they become much better. This hospital is worth trusting.
🌺I specially thanked my beloved wife and an Indian master. My Indian master is like God. He always tells me I will be fine, making me confident. During hospital life, I often feel that he is always by my side, so I never have pain. I am so grateful to him.

Personal Information

LOH JUI TONG’s tongue was filled with bumps, which turned out to be tongue cancer and three months later his tongue almost split up into two parts from the middle, so the local doctors suggested him to cut out half of his tongue. But how can he speak or eat with half tongue left? Multiple Disciplinary Team in MCHG conducted radical treatment on his tongue cancer first and then minimally invasive therapy was applied. After treatment, his tongue was kept and tongue bump disappeared. Now his tongue functions as normal.

Diagnosed as tongue cancer stage III

In August 2015, a bump emerged in his tongue, with ulcer on the surface, so he went to local hospital for biopsy but it turned out to be well. Until December, he started feeling ache in his tongue and his consumption was affected. Realized the serious situation, he went another biopsy, the result showed he got tongue cancer and it already turned into stage III. Since New Year was near, he didn’t undergo immediate treatment but left it alone, which was not a permanent solution to his disease. Before long, tongue ulcer emerged and ache further intensified and weight dropped sharply. What’s worse, sleeping, speaking and eating were seriously affected by his tongue cancer.

In March 2016, LOH JUI TONG underwent radiotherapy and chemotherapy in Malaysia since tongue bump enlarged. Radiotherapy and chemotherapy are systemic therapies, they would kill cancer cells as well as normal cells, which did great harm to patient. During the process, LOH JUI TONG lost his hair and taste. Even though the tumor became smaller, the doctor suggested him to remove the tumor completely through surgery, which meant half of his tongue needs to be cut out. LOH JUI TONG rejected this suggestion in consideration of the difficulty it may cause to his speaking and eating.

Minimally invasive therapy successfully killed tongue cancer

In July 2016, LOH JUI TONG came to MCHG. After thorough checkup including blood test and CT check, Multiple Disciplinary Team decided to conduct radical treatment and interventional therapy as well as biological immunotherapy.

Interventional therapy is one of the most common therapies among minimally invasive targeted therapy technology. During the process, the doctor will fix the position of tumor lesion first with medical imaging device and then injected anti-cancer drugs directly to the tumor lesion. The concentration of anti-cancer drugs are 8 times higher than that of intravenous injection, which means the therapeutic effects are 8 times higher, too. At the same time, it does little harm to patients. In addition, interventional therapy is a mini-invasive therapy. With a 1-2 millimeter incision, it can be performed with the lead of CT and features no surgery, small trauma, quick recovery and significant efficacy.

After the first session of interventional therapy, LOH JUI TONG has gained good efficacy without numbness and swelling. According to his attending doctor Hu Ying, he was infected with unexplained bacteremia and suffered fever for half a month. Afterwards a blood culture unveiled the reason is the venous port he underwent in another hospital. So the doctor took out the venous port and the fever disappeared promptly.

Currently, he has taken respectively two sessions of interventional therapy and biological immunotherapy. There’s no fester on his tongue and the tumor has disappeared. He’s living as normal with body functions well. He also stated that he is a foodie. Thanks to minimally invasive treatment, he can freely enjoy his favorite food.

Warming tips for tongue cancer treatment:

Tongue cancer is classified as entire tongue carcinoma(2/3 in the front) and tongue base carcinoma(1/3 in the back). In most cases, tumor occurs in the tongue margin and sometimes in the lingual apex, lingual undersurface or lingual undersurface. Clinical manifestations include ulcerative type and infiltrative type. Both types spread quickly with intense pain and high infectivity.

There’re several options for tongue cancer treatment.

Comprehensive treatment combined mainly with surgery is suitable, while radiotherapy can achieve good efficacy in the case of tongue cancer in early stage. For patients in middle and advanced stage or who was inoperable, overall minimally invasive treatments are better choices, including interventional therapy, cryotherapy, biological immunotherapy and Traditional Chinese Medicine and targeted minimally invasive treatment.

ONG CHOON MOY:“ No matter what kind of cancer you got, please be strong and confident. Treat cancer with normalcy, hold back the pain and defeat it.”

ONG CHOON MOY, an ordinary housewife, stays at home taking care of her two children. Her husband works hard to earn money to support his family. Although they are poor, they live a happy life. ONG CHOON MOY has been suffered from cough and stomachache since 2014. In the early stage, ONG CHOON MOY just took it as common stomach illness. However, the unbearable pain urged her to hospital to take further examination. Unfortunately, she was diagnosed with lung cancer.

Just like most cancer patients, it was hard for ONG CHOON MOY to accept the fact that she got lung cancer. This news was like a thunderbolt out of a clear sky. She did not cry, because she knew that it wouldn’t help, but only made her feel worse. She took chemotherapy and radiotherapy in a local hospital of Malaysia. The side effects brought by chemotherapy and radiotherapy, such as pain, vomiting, hair losing, made her suffer a lot. She felt even worse when knowing that her condition did not turn better after taking dozen times of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, her tumor just shrank 1%. At that time, she run out of all her savings.

ONG CHOON MOY mentioned that fighting against cancer is so difficult that she almost give up. After witnessing the death of her friend who got cancer but gave up treatment, she told herself that under no circumstance can she give up, she must fight to the last moment. Her little son is only 13 years old and just enters junior school, she wants to restore to health and witness the growth of her son. She searched on the internet, aiming to find a better lung cancer treatment. Fortunately, she found Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou. At that time, a series of symposiums about cancer treatment were held by Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou in Malaysia. She decided to participate in the symposium held in Malacca. After the symposium, Professor Peng Xiaochi, the chief oncologist of Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou, gave her some therapeutic recommendations. However, considering about her economic condition and other reasons, ONG CHOON MOY did not came to China for treatment immediately.

Several months later, with the help of strangers in Malaysia, ONG CHOON MOY gained enough money. Actually, except for her husband, both her mother and sister disagreed with her decision about taking cancer treatment in China, because they worried about ONG CHOON MOY’s condition and knew little about Chinese medical technology. However, ONG CHOON MOY and her husband insisted on taking lung cancer treatment in Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou. Finally, ONG CHOON MOY started her journey of taking cancer treatment abroad.

ONG CHOON MOY’s lung tumor has developed into the fourth stage when she hospitalized. The Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) of Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou quickly made her an individualized therapeutic plan: interventional therapy and cryotherapy. After taking interventional therapy and cryotherapy in Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou, her tumor shrank and the pain used to torture her greatly also disappeared. Wang Zenghai, ONG CHOON MOY’s attending doctor, told us that the CT result showed that ONG CHOON MOY’s lung cancer cells and those cancer cells metastasizes to the pleura reduced greatly. Her condition now turns better.

Knowing that ONG CHOON MOY’s conditions become much better, her sister and mother started to support and believe the medical technology in China. ONG CHOON MOY mentioned that the medical technology in China is advanced than that in Malaysia. In Malaysia, there are only traditional treatments for lung cancer, such as chemotherapy, radiotherapy, etc. There is no cryotherapy, chemotherapy and other minimally invasive therapies in Malaysia. What’s more, the services in Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou are humanized; doctors and nurses here are friendly and nice. On ONG CHOON MOY’s birthday, doctors and nurses of Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou specially prepared ONG CHOON MOY a birthday cake for celebration. Although ONG CHOON MOY did not use to celebrate birthday, the considerate service of doctors and nursed made her happy and moved.

One year pasts, ONG CHOON MOY’s mentality changed a lot. At the beginning, it was hard for her to accept the fact; she even wanted to give up, but now she becomes optimistic and strong. It is her optimistic and strong mind that helps her fights against cancer bravely. ONG CHOON MOY told us that her families are the first people she wants to say thank you, thank them for their support and care. For her family’s sake, she will try her best to restore to health. ONG CHOON MOY also shows her gratitude to those people who always help her, thank them for their support. What’s more, ONG CHOON MOY also gives some encouragement to other cancer patients:” No matter what kind of cancer you got, please be strong and confident. Treat cancer with normalcy, hold back the pain and defeat it.” Here, we wish ONG CHOON MOY a quick recovery.

Personal Information

My name is Aida Nuguid. I am a Filipino and I have a small business in local place. When it comes to cancer, although I have been in business for many years and suffered a lot, I still feel very sad.

It was at the end of last August, I had a bad cough and so I went to a local hospital for a physical examination. Both chest X-ray and CT scan results showed there was a tumor in my left chest,  which was about 2cm*1.5cm*1cm. After that, my doctor gave me a three-month anti-tuberculosis treatment. And because phthisis was a very common disease in the Philippines, I didn’t care it too much until it was too late.

Two-month treatment for phthisis passed very quickly. However, my cough didn’t get any better, but it became even worse. Then I felt it was not right, so I went to the local hospital and did a PET scan here. The result frightened me: The tumor in my lung was three times bigger than before. “It is lung cancer.” When the doctor told me the truth, I couldn’t help crying even though I had always been strong. It seemed as if the world has down to me. I began to regret: Why didn’t I pay enough attention to the last test? Why did I smoke so much in the past 15 years? (I have been addicted to smoking for 15 years. Every day I will smoke at least three packs. ) But cry couldn’t help me, neither could my regret. My business experience taught me that, when facing difficulties and setbacks, you should not give up until the last moment. And so I will never give up any hope.

I started to seek treatment positively after I made up my mind. The very first thing I did was decisively rejected the surgery advised by my doctor in the Philippines, because I didn’t want to lose my left lung, and I didn’t think that resection operation was an ideal treatment plan for me. As far as I know, operative surgery will cause great pain and big risk to a patient. And because I have heard from others before that the Chinese are very good at treating cancer, I asked my son to search the internet for the best cancer hospital in China. We found several cancer hospitals actually, and after comparison, I found that Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou which uses minimally invasive therapies to treat middle and advanced cancer receives highly praise. I believed that it was the instrument that God sent to me. So I contacted the hospital soon and came here with my son.

From the first time I admitted the hospital in March till now, I remembered every treatment I received in this hospital clearly, for each one gave me big improvement. From the very beginning, I have done six interventional therapies, twice cryotherapy and one biological immunotherapy. By infusing the anticancer drug into the tumor in my lung through interventional therapy, my cough was greatly relieved. Cryotherapy was also used in the treatment to freeze and then blast the cancer cells in my body. Both treatments are minimally and they would not cause big side effect. To help me fight against cancer better, doctors in MCHG also used biological immunotherapy to improve my immunity. Now both my disease and quality of life are greatly improved. When I admitted the hospital, I have very bad cough. I was so skinny, and I was so weak, you can see I was almost at the point of dying. But after the treatment, I have great improvement. My hair is still here. My movement is fast. The cough disappeared. I have good appetite and good sleep. I was getting fatter. All things seem to be improving.

Please forgive me to use the word “improvement” repeatedly, for that is the most impressive thing that this cancer hospital gives to me. Although those improvements seem nothing special to an ordinary patient, but to me, as a cancer patient, they mean a lot, and I am so happy to see each my improvement, even if it is a very small one. And my family and friends, they are happy for me too. Here, I just want to say: To all the cancer patients, yes, don’t lose hope. Keep in believing and keep asking god and he will heal you. Just talk to the lord, and he will send the instrument to heal you just like it sends the Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou to me. Thanks to Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou, my disease is now under good control.

Nuguid said: When you are diagnosed with cancer, don’t lose hope. Keep in believing and keep asking god and he will he will send the instrument to heal you just like it sends the Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou to me.
